The Art Association of Harrisburg is pleased to present, FLUX, two separate exhibitions under the same roof, from October 19th – November 21st, 2018 with an opening reception on Friday, October 19th from 5 – 8 pm. Flux, as defined by Merriam-Webster, means a continuous moving on or passing by; a continued flow.
This exhibition is to be viewed as two shows in one, as the viewer transitions from one exhibit into the next. However, despite the differentiation, both distinct bodies of work express the existence of a flow within life, whether it be navigating through one’s digital and physical existences, as seen in the work of Brittany Kurtinecz, or documenting the physical, emotional and mental hurdles of illness, as shown in the work of Wendy Palmer and Kimberly Myers. Art has always been used as a way to document the fluctuation of life, both on a societal and individual level.
