The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is excited to host their 16th Annual Race Against Racism to promote awareness of racism and injustice in our community and raise vital funds to support our racial justice programs.
The route forges a deeper connection between their mission of eliminating racism and the history of our city. It is built along Harrisburg’s 6th and 7th Street corridors and will start and end at Soldier’s Grove.
About the Course:
-The 5 kilometer/3.1-mile race course is accurately measured, but not certified.
-The race is professionally timed; results will be posted at www.ywcahbg.org.
-People of all ages and physical abilities may participate. The course is wheelchair-accessible, but not ideal as much of the course is on uneven pavement.
Following the Race there is a Humanity Festival featuring culturally diverse entertainers, food, vendors and fun activities for children of all ages. The Annual Kid's Fun Run will take place at 10:00 a.m. during the Humanity Fest. This is a FREE dash for kids up to age 12. There will be food trucks and vendors, live music, dancers, and performances all following the race.
