Harrisburg features the unique, 1-mile long, 63-acre City Island, conveniently located just across the walking bridge from the downtown and easily accessible by car as well. From mini golfing and taking a tour on the train, to enjoying a walk and grabbing something delicious to eat, there's plenty of activities on the island for the whole family.
Hop on the Island’s miniature train or enclosed trolley to see the sites, or head to South Mountain Carriage Co. for an elegant horse-drawn carriage ride on City Island or along Riverfront Park. You can also pet the horses at their carriage house.
During the spring, summer and fall, try a cruise aboard the Pride of the Susquehanna River Boat – – it’s a unique way to see the beautiful skyline vistas of the city!
City Island also boasts picturesque paths for walking or biking if you prefer to explore on foot.
